Conference Scope
We are glad you visited the 19th CIRP Conference on Modeling of Machining Operations, which was held from 31st May – 02nd June 2023 in Karlsruhe, Germany. The conference is a great chance for experts from academia and industry in the field of modeling of machining operations to present and discuss their findings on a very high level, which stimulates and supports the knowledge in this field. The 19th CIRP Conference on Modeling of Machining Operations continued a long series of conferences, which was founded by our esteemed colleague Prof. I.S. Jawahir. High quality research findings in the area of Numerical and Analytical Modeling of Machining and Surface Integrity and Tribological Aspects of Cutting were presented. Topics like Multiscale Modeling, Artificial Intelligence, Fluid Dynamics and Surface Conditioning in Machining Processes are becoming more important. Therefore, these topics were included in the 19th CIRP Conference on Modeling of Machining Operations and were discussed in separated sessions, which is a chance for the researchers to discuss their findings in detail.
Summary of the Event
The conference was a great success and showcased 78 papers on the latest developments in modeling manufacturing processes, with a special focus on machining, presented and discussed across 22 sessions. The event attracted a diverse group of 119 participants, mostly from an international background, including renowned researchers in the field. It was an excellent opportunity for fruitful scientific exchanges and networking. We were particularly delighted to host the Conference Dinner at the beautiful Gartensaal of Karlsruhe Palace, where connections were fostered in a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, Schaeffler, ModuleWorks, Herlanco GmbH, and Dr.-Ing. Hermann Engineering Office , for their invaluable support in making this conference a resounding success. CIRP remains at the forefront of production engineering research, leading the way in the design, optimization, control, and management of processes, machines, and systems. We are proud to be part of such an innovative and collaborative community.
